Who can immigrate to the USA?

The United States has always been an attractive country for immigrants from all over the world. With its strong economy, job opportunities, and good quality of life, it is a desired destination for many.

But the United States has strict immigration rules, so you need to fulfill certain requirements in order to obtain a green card, which is your license to live and work legally in the country. The US Federal Government regulates immigration and grants visas to people who pass the process.

If you wish to immigrate to the United States, it is necessary to know that there are several types of visas, which vary in relation to the bearer's rights and restrictions - and also in the amount of time the bearer can stay on American soil.

Tourist visa and green card?

For example, a tourist visa does not give the bearer permission to live permanently in the US or to work on US soil. If your intention is to immigrate permanently with your family to the US and work on US soil, you probably fall into one of these visa categories: EB-1, EB-2, EB-3, EB-4, or EB-5.

All of these types of visas are either work or investment related, with the EB-2 being the most commonly used visa for skilled workers and their family members to get their dream green card.

Those who can immigrate to the U.S. need to meet the U.S. immigration requirements to obtain a permanent housing and work visa, and your profession can be the gateway to that opportunity.

Requirements for the EB-2

If you prove that you have exceptional skills with a degree of expertise beyond what is found on the market in your field of work, or have advanced degree skills, with higher education and at least 5 years of proven experience, and prove that your field of work is of U.S. national interest, you are eligible to apply for a U.S. EB-2 visa.

Professions that are your passport to the USA

That is, if you are a doctor, dentist, psychologist, airline pilot, or have any other profession that could be considered of national interest to the United States, and have experience in it, you can try to get a green card without needing a previous offer of employment in the US.

Does EB-2 give my family a green card?

If you are approved in the EB-2 visa process, your spouse and children under 21 will also be granted the same visa, making the migration process as smooth as possible, without the need for you to move away from your family members to immigrate to the United States.

Work in dollars and enhance your career

And even if you don't have the desire to move permanently to the USA, an EB-2 visa gives you the opportunity to work in the U.S. market and be paid in dollars, broadening your professional, social, and family horizons, while also enhancing your professional expertise in Brazilian territory.
