How much does a programmer earn in the United States?

The United States technology market is the most employed in the world, with about 4.4 million software developers located on American territory. The state of California alone, famous for being the birthplace of Silicon Valley, is home to more than 258,000 software developers.

The average annual salary of a software developer in the United States, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, is 132,000 dollars (633,000 reais).

A senior software developer position in Brazil has an average annual salary of 120 thousand reais according to Glassdoor. It is certainly a good remuneration for the Brazilian reality, but it can be practically quintupled if you get a position with the same level of expertise in American territory.

And average salaries in the states of California and Washington are even higher, reaching up to $182,000 a year.

If you are a programmer or software developer and want to immigrate to the United States, your profession is booming in America!

More and more qualified Brazilians are seeking a prosperous and peaceful future for their families in the United States - in 2022 more than 23,000 Brazilians received their Green Cards, a record number in the historical series. They are doctors, pilots, engineers, psychologists, engineers, nurses, dentists and other professionals who have valuable qualifications for the professional environment in the United States.

Many people think that investing in the United States or having a close family member living in the United States are the only ways to get a Green Card, but this is not true!

Your profession can be your passport to America.

There are U.S. visa categories made especially for skilled workers, such as the EB-1 and EB-2 categories. These categories do not require the applicant to have a prior offer of employment in the United States because the U.S. government considers that these strategic and skilled professionals can contribute to the financial, academic, technological, social and environmental progress of the country.

EB-2 visa

If you are a software engineer or programmer who has a degree, more than five years of experience, and exceptional skills in your field, you may be eligible for a Green Card in the EB-2 category.

And, in this visa category, if you are approved, your spouse and children under 21 will also be granted their respective Green Cards. All this without the need for a prior job offer in the United States.
