Artist: How to immigrate to the USA

The American cultural industry is known for being the most diverse, globalized and profitable in the world. And you, who are an artist in Brazil, can also use your experience to immigrate to the United States and boost your career with artistic and cultural opportunities in America.

The United States has a dynamic cultural industry: the Broadway musical industry alone earned 1.6 billion dollars in 2022, a figure that shows a huge recovery after the coronavirus pandemic ended. The number of paid subscriptions to on-demand music services has doubled since 2018, reaching an impressive 92 million dollars in 2022. And the fine arts market also grew by 8% in 2022, surpassing pre-pandemic figures and closing the year with an estimated size of 30 billion dollars.

The United States is the ideal home for musicians, artists and cultural producers: with more than 35,000 museums and 900 stadiums, the country hosts more than 800 music festivals every year for a variety of audiences. And if you're an artist, you can use your career to get an American permanent residence visa, better known as the famous Green Card

I already have an American visa, does it get me a green card?

Not all visas get you a green card. If you already have an O-1 visa or a P-1 visa, you are authorized to stay in the United States for a certain period of time or until you complete your artistic or cultural project. But these visas are of limited duration and cannot necessarily be used to obtain a Green Card or American citizenship in the future.

How to get your Green Card? Your career!

Your career is your greatest asset when it comes to getting a Green Card. All the awards you have accumulated in Brazil or in international competitions are proof that you have a solid career and are a standout in your field. Participation in major concerts, musical performances, television shows, soap operas and musicals are also considered proof of extraordinary and exceptional abilities for US immigration.

And if you're a visual artist, the same applies; all the exhibitions you've taken part in and the awards and recognitions you've won are valid proof of your importance on the national and international cultural scene

His career as an artist is valued in the United States, as the American government grants EB-2 permanent residency visas to professionals who are outstanding in the sciences, business and the arts.

EB-2 NIW Visa: Requirements
